Coffee & Jam is Christchurch's longest running weekly meet up for entrepreneurial-minded people. It’s a great place to see ordinary people doing extraordinary things, be inspired, network, and share in an innovative space.

This week's speakers are:

1. Ben Parker - Attainable Sustainable Aquaculture (ASA)

Ben is the founder of ASA, a community-based aquaculture company gearing up to develop sea cucumber farms in Papua New Guinea and around the Pacific. Ben studied his BSc in Zoology and Marine Science and continued on with a PGDip in Global Business to utilise his science background with a business approach, aiming to develop financially sustainable social enterprise models that have strong environmental benefits. 

Ben will talk about his experiences and lessons learnt from working in Madagascar and how his new company, ASA aims to contribute towards sustainable marine resource management with small-scale fishing communities around the Pacific utilising aquaculture and their triple bottom line of sustainability.

2. Charlotte French - GHD

Charlotte French is a transport engineer for global professional services company, GHD. In 2018 Charlotte was given the opportunity to participate in Smart Seeds, a design led innovation program powered by GHD that aims at tackling some of the biggest challenges that our regions are facing. Charlotte is passionate about seeing innovation and collaboration thrive in Canterbury and will be talking about her experience within the Smart Seeds program over the last two years and some of the challenges she has worked on.
